China has unveiled a prototype CR450 train capable of reaching a speed of 450 km/h. The new train outperforms the previous CR400 model and is undergoing final tests before commercial operation.

Once commercially operational, it could become the fastest high-speed train in the world, surpassing China's current CR400 model, which debuted in 2017 and operates at 350 kilometers (217 miles) per hour.

The latest CR450 prototype has been highly praised by its developers, CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles and CRRC Sifang Co. for its superior operational speed, energy efficiency, noise insulation and braking performance.

According to the state-run China Daily, the car has undergone more than 3,000 simulations and more than 2,000 platform tests to meet the stringent requirements of commercial operation.

According to representatives of the China State Railway Group, additional tests and improvements are needed to ensure that the train meets all the standards required for commercial operation.

Over the past decade, China has become the undisputed world leader in rail transport development, building thousands of kilometers of new railways that reach almost every corner of the country. According to the Chinese Ministry of Transport, the country's rail network is more than 160,000 kilometers long, including more than 46,000 kilometers of high-speed rail lines.
