The head of a district department of the State Migration Service in Volyn was detained for systematically taking bribes when issuing passports. The official demanded money for the absence of obstacles in the process, receiving up to UAH 40 thousand per month.
SBU officers exposed the head of a district department of the State Migration Service in Volyn region on corruption. The official set up an illegal mechanism for systematically taking bribes when preparing documents. This was reported by the press service of the Security Service of Ukraine in Volyn region, UNN reports .

It is noted that in exchange for money, the offender promised not to create artificial obstacles in the production of domestic and foreign passports.
According to preliminary conclusions of experts, the offender received up to UAH 40 thousand per month.
Law enforcers caught the official red-handed in his office while he was receiving another tranche of bribes for "assistance" in preparing documents for a minor child.
At present, the head of the SBGS department has been served a notice of suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of an unlawful benefit by an official).
