Border guards actively use modern equipment, including drones with thermal imaging cameras. Thus, night time does not interfere with aerial reconnaissance

Coach is an aerial reconnaissance officer of one of the border guard units performing combat missions in the Bakhmut direction. His duties are standard for his specialty - detecting and destroying the occupiers using unmanned aerial vehicles.

The occupiers are "targeted" by quadcopters with ammunition drop systems, or by correcting enemy fire damage with artillery.

"Recently, we found enemy positions, from where the occupiers were watching the front line. We found them, adjusted a 120-mm mortar and smashed them to pieces," the border guard said.

Border guards are actively using modern equipment, including drones with thermal imaging cameras. Thus, the darkness of the day does not interfere with aerial reconnaissance, and the nighttime movements of the occupiers can be tracked. However, there are other factors that complicate the work of UAV operators.

Currently, according to Coach, aerial reconnaissance, in addition to enemy electronic warfare systems, is hampered by autumn weather, high humidity, rain and fog.
