Kyiv • UNN
russia is trying to involve Ukrainian children in cooperation through recruitment, blackmail and intimidation. The Ombudsman calls for teaching children about information security and contacting the police in case of suspicions.

Russia not only physically kidnaps Ukrainian children, but also tries to involve them in cooperation through recruitment, blackmail and intimidation, even in territories controlled by Ukraine. This was announced in his Telegram channel by Dmytro Lubinets, the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, reports UNN.
Details
According to the Ombudsman, Russian special services use various methods to persuade children who do not realize the consequences of their actions to cooperate:
- manipulation through social networks, gaming and entertainment content;
- financial or material incentive;
- blackmail and intimidation.
It is noted that the recruitment of children and their involvement in illegal activities is not only a violation of children's rights, but can also lead to legal consequences for minors themselves.
To prevent the recruitment of children, it is important to teach them the rules of information security. Explain the risks of communicating with strangers on social networks. Be attentive to changes in a child's behavior. Sudden changes may indicate pressure or manipulation. If you suspect recruitment, immediately contact the National Police (102), fill out the feedback form on the Cyberpolice website
Dmytro Lubinets emphasized that the recruitment of children in armed conflicts is a war crime under international humanitarian law. "A recruited child is a victim and an instrument in the hands of the aggressor," he added.
"I would like to note that the protection of children from recruitment must be comprehensive. It is important to jointly prevent children from being involved in the criminal tasks of the aggressor country!", the Ombudsman noted.
