AMCU found no evidence of collusion among gas stations to raise fuel prices - Kyrylenko

The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine has not recorded evidence of market participants' collusion to raise fuel prices. This was stated by the head of the AMCU, Pavlo Kyrylenko, during a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, UNN reports.

Details

I will briefly and concisely inform the people's deputies about the results of the investigation by the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine. Almost a month ago, namely on March 9, the committee began considering a case regarding possible anti-competitive concerted actions, which consist of gas station operators raising retail prices for light petroleum products. The committee collected and analyzed information regarding the reasons for the increase in fuel prices and held consultations with the Government regarding possible "interventions" in this market. All Ukrainian gas station operators purchase fuel almost exclusively from European countries, from the same manufacturers and traders. Currently, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine, based on the already received and analyzed data, has not recorded any evidence of market participants' collusion regarding price increases as of today.

- Kyrylenko stated.

At the same time, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk, invited Pavlo Kyrylenko to report on Thursday, April 9.

Recall

Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko predicts a decrease in fuel prices amid falling oil prices worldwide. She added that the situation with reserves is stable.
