A state of emergency was declared in Novorossiysk after an attack by Ukrainian drones

On August 12, a state of emergency was introduced in Novorossiysk, in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai. The decision was made after a new massive attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was reported by the city’s mayor, Andriy Kravchenko, UNN writes.

"A state of emergency has been introduced in Novorossiysk. After the drone attack threat was lifted, I went to the sites of the damage to assess the situation and speak with residents," Kravchenko confirmed.

According to him, a headquarters has already been established in the city to coordinate the work of all emergency services.

In addition, the inspection of the areas for drone fragments is still ongoing.

The mayor of Novorossiysk also assured residents that management companies and repair crews had begun clearing the areas.

He claims that the attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine caused two water pipelines supplying the city to rupture. Against this backdrop, water supplies to the city were suspended.

Kravchenko added that Russian air defenses had to repel a drone attack by the Ukrainian Defense Forces throughout the night. He also acknowledged that many fires had broken out in the city. As usual, the mayor did not disclose the full extent of the consequences of the new Ukrainian strikes on Novorossiysk.
