The Canadian opening ceremony of the 2026 World Cup has begun at BMO Field in Toronto. Bryan Adams, Michael Bublé, and Alanis Morissette are set to perform at the event.

Today, June 12, the Canadian opening ceremony of the 2026 World Cup began at BMO Field in Toronto. The ceremony started an hour and a half before the match of one of the host countries—Canada—against the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina, UNN reports.

The second day of the World Cup in Ottawa officially kicked off with the Canadians taking the opening kickoff at the center of the field.

The teams have appeared on the pitch. The national anthem of Bosnia and Herzegovina was performed by Aleksandar Gajić on the violin. 

The national anthem of Canada was performed by rock singer Alanis Morissette.

The main stars of the Canadian opening ceremony of the 2026 World Cup will be the legendary Canadian rock artist Bryan Adams, as well as pop singer Michael Bublé. The official national anthem of Canada will be performed live before the game by iconic rock singer Alanis Morissette, while the anthem of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be presented by Aleksandar Gajić. Wyclef Jean, Nora Fatehi, and Vegedream are also involved in the Canadian portion of the celebrations.

Fans have begun to fill the streets of Toronto.
