2026 Harvest: Ukraine has already harvested nearly half of its fields

As of August 11, 5.63 million hectares have been harvested in Ukraine, accounting for 49% of the projected area, and 26.13 million tonnes of grain have been collected. Odesa, Kirovohrad and Mykolaiv oblasts are leading, while the highest yields have been recorded in Khmelnytskyi oblast.

2026 Harvest: Ukraine has already harvested nearly half of its fields

During the harvest campaign in Ukraine, farmers have already harvested more than 26 million tonnes of grain and leguminous crops from 49% of the projected area, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy reported on Tuesday, UNN writes.

Ukraine’s harvesting campaign for early grain and leguminous crops is underway. As of August 11, farmers in all regions had already threshed 5.63 million hectares, or 49% of the projected area, and harvested 26.13 million tonnes of grain from the new crop

- the ministry reported.

In particular:

  • wheat – 4,066.2 thousand hectares threshed, 19.74 million tonnes harvested at an average yield of 48.5 centners per hectare;
    • barley – 1,287.2 thousand hectares, 5.68 million tonnes harvested at a yield of 44.1 centners per hectare;
      • peas – 276.9 thousand hectares, 712.3 thousand tonnes harvested at a yield of 25.7 centners per hectare.

        In terms of the volume of early grain and leguminous crops harvested, farmers in Odesa, Kirovohrad and Mykolaiv regions are currently leading. In particular:

        • Odesa region – 4,058.2 thousand tonnes from an area of 960.5 thousand hectares (wheat – 2,532.3 thousand tonnes, barley – 1,284.8 thousand tonnes, peas – 241.1 thousand tonnes);
          • Kirovohrad region – 2,329.4 thousand tonnes from an area of 536.5 thousand hectares (wheat – 1,839.3 thousand tonnes, barley – 408.1 thousand tonnes, peas – 82.0 thousand tonnes);
            • Mykolaiv region – 2,326.1 thousand tonnes from an area of 653.8 thousand hectares (wheat – 1,631.8 thousand tonnes, barley – 587.5 thousand tonnes, peas – 106.8 thousand tonnes).

              The highest yields of grain crops are currently recorded in Khmelnytskyi (69.6 centners per hectare), Ternopil (61.9 centners per hectare) and Vinnytsia (59.7 centners per hectare) regions.

              In addition, rapeseed harvesting is underway. To date, 1,190.7 thousand hectares have been threshed, and 3.22 million tonnes of seeds have been harvested at an average yield of 27.1 centners per hectare.
