Ukrainian sabre fencer
Olha Hennadiivna Kharlan is a Ukrainian sabre fencer, coach, two-time Olympic champion, and six-time world champion. She was born on September 4, 1990, in Mykolaiv. She started sports at the age of 9, but initially, she was involved in dancing. In 2003, at the Ukrainian championship, she defeated Daria Nedashkovska, the leader of the Ukrainian fencing team. Since then, she began competing for the Ukrainian national team. During her sports career, Kharlan won two Olympic gold medals, one silver, and three bronze. She became a world champion six times and a European champion eight times. Olha Kharlan's name is inscribed in the International Fencing Federation's Hall of Fame. She has a personalized Barbie doll.
