The President of Ukraine had a conversation with the Prime Minister of Canada on strengthening sanctions against Russia and its propaganda networks. The parties discussed military assistance and the possibility of producing weapons in Ukraine.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a conversation with Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau. The conversation focused, in particular, on strengthening sanctions against Russia. This was announced by the Ukrainian President in his Telegram channel, UNN reports.
"I had a conversation with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on the eve of Canada's presidency of the G7. We discussed key priorities, in particular, strengthening sanctions against Russia, especially against its propaganda networks and shadow fleet," the President said in a statement.
Zelenskyy thanked Prime Minister Trudeau and the Canadian people for their unwavering support, including important defense assistance such as NASAMS.
"I also proposed to increase funding for the production of Ukrainian weapons and to consider opportunities for localizing the production of certain types of weapons.
Close coordination with our allies is extremely important to ensure Ukraine's strong position and achieve lasting peace and security for all," Zelensky said.
