In Zaporizhzhia, police uncovered an underground armory, seizing more than 7,000 rounds of ammunition, ammunition blanks, weapons and equipment.

In Zaporizhzhia, police stopped the activities of an underground armory that manufactured and processed ammunition for criminal elements in the region.  This was reported by the National Police of Ukraine, according to UNN.

Operatives of the Strategic Investigations Department in Zaporizzhia region and investigators of the Police Department No. 1 of the Zaporizzhia District Police Department identified two local residents as persons involved in illegal activities. They found that these individuals rented a garage and set up an underground workshop for the production of ammunition of various calibers.

During the searches, law enforcement officers seized a significant amount of ammunition (7 405), ammunition blanks (over 11 kg), a shotgun, a rifle, as well as equipment and documentation. One of the defendants has already been served a notice of suspicion for illegal handling of weapons, and additional forensic investigations are underway, which may lead to serving a notice of suspicion to the other defendant.

Both men could face up to 7 years in prison under the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
