ChatGPT's Wikipedia page was the most popular in 2023 with over 49.4 million views. The top 25 most popular pages also included articles about India, popular movies, actors and football players, as well as an article about russian aggression in Ukraine.
The most popular page on Wikipedia was the article about ChatGPT, which was read by more than second visitor to Wikipedia. This was reported by the Wikimedia Foundation, which which manages Wikipedia, according to UNN with reference to CNN Business.

To the list of of the most popular pages in 2023 includes 25 articles. The most popular article was the page about ChatGPT, an artificial intelligence chatbot from OpenAI. It was read more than 49.4 million times.
The second most popular popularity was the list of famous people who died in 2023 (42.6 million views). The third place in the ranking was taken by an article about the Cricket World Cup in 2023 - it received more than 38.1 million views due to the increased interest of of the people of India to this sport. The fourth place was also taken by an article about cricket - the Indian Premier League (32 million). The fifth place went to an article about the movie Oppenheimer (over 28.3 million views).
Since the beginning of 2023 Wikipedia has been visited more than 84 billion times. At the same time, interest in it has grown significantly among residents of India and Southeast Asia. 5 of the 25 most popular articles on the list are from India. In particular, the ranking includes two articles about popular Indian films "Soldier" and "Pathan: A Fight with Death" and as well as an article about India itself.
Among other of the most popular Wikipedia articles this year are pages dedicated to movies and TV series that have recently been released (One of Us, Barbie, "Avatar: The Last Airbender, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3). The seventh place was an article about the American physicist Robert Oppenheimer.
In addition, users of "Wikipedia" users were actively interested in the biographies of celebrities living singer Taylor Swift, footballers Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, billionaire Elon Musk, and controversial blogger Andrew Tate. On the 17th place was an article about the recently deceased actor Matthew Perry, and 22nd was an article about Lisa Marie Presley (singer and daughter of Elvis Presley), who died in early 2023.
The top 25 also included also included two articles about countries (the United States and India). Among important world events users of the online encyclopedia were most interested in the war in Ukraine: the relevant page was read almost 12.8 million times (24th place in the list).
