The defendant accused of the attempted assassination of Trump was held in a US isolation cell under improper conditions, a judge stated, offering an apology to him.

A U.S. judge expressed concern over the treatment of a man accused of attempting to assassinate Donald Trump and apologized to him for the conditions of his detention. This was reported by Reuters, according to UNN.
Details
The individual in question is 31-year-old Cole Allen, who is suspected of opening fire during an event involving Trump on April 25.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Zia Faruqui stated he was "disturbed" by the suspect's detention conditions. Specifically, Allen was kept under suicide watch, isolated from other inmates, and had restricted access to a Bible.
"Whatever you have gone through, I apologize,"
According to Faruqui, such conditions are inappropriate for a person with no criminal record and do not meet basic standards of treatment.
Course of the Case
Allen has been charged with attempted murder and firearm-related offenses. He remains in custody and has not yet entered a plea.
Prosecutors claim that after his arrest, the suspect told the FBI he did not expect to survive the attack.
Court Decision
The judge emphasized that pretrial detention should not turn into punishment.
"Right now, it's not working. It's not enough. I think it's legally flawed,"
He ordered the prison administration to provide an explanation regarding Allen's detention conditions in the near future.
