The United States has imposed a military blockade on all vessels entering Iranian ports. Neutral ships were given limited time to leave the dangerous zone.
The blockade of Iranian ports began in accordance with the deadline set by US President Donald Trump, UNN reports with reference to Sky News.

The publication notes that from this moment on, vessels of all countries entering or leaving Iranian ports and coastal areas will be subject to a military blockade by the United States.
The US Central Command stated that it would continue to allow vessels operating between non-Iranian ports to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.
However, it remains unclear how exactly the blockade will work, the publication adds.

The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) stated that neutral vessels in Iranian ports have been given a "limited grace period" to exit the US blockade zone.
UKMTO said the duration of the grace period would be specified in an official notice to mariners, which it said would also contain official details of the measures taken.
UKMTO confirmed that the blockade would apply "without exception to vessels of any flag entering Iranian ports, oil terminals or coastal facilities."
The restrictions apply to the entire Iranian coastline, the report said.
In an official statement, the agency said: "Additional guidance for mariners is currently being developed on how these measures will be applied in practice, including routes, inspection and authorized transit procedures.
Further clarification is expected in subsequent messages as information becomes available."
