920 rescuers and 240 pieces of equipment will be on duty in Kyiv on New Year's Eve, and the State Emergency Service is ready to deal with any emergency, including threats from Russia.
While Kyiv residents celebrate the New Year, 920 rescuers and 240 units of special equipment will be on round-the-clock duty. This was announced by the press officer of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine Oleksandr Khorunzhyi during a briefing, according to a correspondent of UNN.
The Kyiv garrison will have 920 people and 240 pieces of equipment on duty. More than 500 people are in reserve. That is, we are ready to deal with any emergencies caused by both weather conditions and, of course, the Russian Federation

The State Emergency Service does not expect a sharp deterioration in weather conditions over the holidays. So far, there are no storm warnings, so the only thing that could happen is an avalanche hazard in the mountains, Khorunzhyi said.

In total, the SES will have more than 7,000 people and 2,200 pieces of fire and rescue and special equipment on duty around the clock on New Year's Eve . If the situation becomes more complicated, the SES may reinforce its forces and means to 11,400 people and almost 5,000 pieces of special equipment.
