Ukrenergo: 2046 settlements in Ukraine are without electricity due to bad weather
Kyiv • UNN
2046 settlements in Ukraine are without power due to bad weather, which complicates emergency repair work; the fighting also leaves 530 settlements without electricity. Ukrenergo is restoring power supply as far as safety permits.
Due to the bad weather, 2046 settlements in Ukraine remain without electricity, and squally winds and wet snow complicate emergency repair work. This was stated by the press service of Ukrenergo, UNN reports .
Details
As of the morning of November 27: Ukrenergo has powered 3 high-voltage 330 kV overhead lines in the southern region that were damaged by the weather. Four 330 kV high-voltage overhead lines remain disconnected due to weather conditions. 32 110-35 kV overhead lines have been disconnected in the networks of regional power distribution companies.
A total of 2046 settlements in Dnipropetrovs'k, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy, Chernivtsi, Chernihiv regions are without power due to the bad weather
At the same time, 530 settlements remain without electricity due to the fighting and other reasons. The shelling has caused new damage to the networks of regional power companies in Donetsk, Kharkiv, Kherson, Sumy, and Chernihiv regions. Ukrenergo emphasizes that emergency repair work is carried out depending on the security situation and with the permission of the military.
Electricity generation
The accident rate at power plants remains high. Overnight, a unit at a thermal power plant in another region went into emergency repair.
At night, enemy shelling damaged equipment at a thermal power plant in the eastern region. The facility did not stop working. Heat supply to the satellite town has been restored, and work is underway to restore electricity supply.
Consumption
Consumption in the power system is reduced due to significant damage to Ukrenergo and regional power distribution companies' grids. During the day, after the power supply is restored in the settlements affected by the weather, consumption is expected to increase rapidly.
This may lead to a sharp increase in the load on the power system. We ask consumers to be especially attentive to economical electricity consumption during bad weather
Exports and imports
No exports today. Electricity is imported in the evening from Slovakia, Romania, and Moldova.
Total capacity is 716 MWh, with a maximum capacity of up to 330 MW in some hours. Technically, the maximum capacity is 1200 MW.
As a reminder,
Difficult weather conditions in Ukraine resulted in more than an hour's delay in long-distance trains, although no flights were canceled and additional cars were added to trains serving snowy regions.
