Ukrainian tennis player Angelina Kalinina has withdrawn from the 2024 Olympic Games, citing a sore throat as the reason. The athlete told this to the NOC press service, UNN reports .
Unfortunately, we spent a long time on the courts yesterday, waiting for the start of the competition. It was raining all this time and this morning I felt a sore throat. Of course, I was very upset, because it was a big dream and honor for me to play at the Olympics and represent my country, especially in such a difficult time. But still, we decided not to take any risks to avoid complications. Thank you all for your support and I wish victories to all Ukrainian athletes!
Yulia Putintseva, another Ukrainian tennis player, also withdrew yesterday.
