Roman Oleksiv, a Ukrainian schoolboy injured in a rocket attack, met with the Pope. The boy also met with an Italian parliamentarian.
Ukrainian schoolboy Roman Oleksiv, who suffered from a Russian missile attack on Vinnytsia, met with the Pope, UNN reports.
"It was an unforgettable and blessed meeting," Roman Oleksiv wrote on Facebook.
In addition, Roman met with a representative of the Italian Parliament Maria Teresa Bellucci.
RecallOn July 14, 2022, Roman and his mother came under rocket fire in Vinnytsia. About 45% of the boy's body was covered with external burns, and 35% with internal burns. Roman's mother, 29-year-old Halyna, the wife of Yaroslav Oleksiv, a famous Ukrainian accordionist and dean of the Lysenko National Music Academy in Lviv, died on the spot.
