Ukraine will continue to issue permits for exhumation works to Poland – Sybiha

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha stated the intention to continue issuing permits to Poland for search and exhumation works. Kyiv also proposed to Warsaw a package of anti-crisis steps to deepen mutual understanding.

Ukraine will continue to issue permits to the Polish side for conducting search and exhumation works. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha during negotiations with the head of the Polish MFA Radosław Sikorski, reports the MFA of Ukraine, as conveyed by UNN.

According to Sybiha, Ukraine is committed to continuing constructive dialogue with Poland, particularly on sensitive historical issues. He emphasized that the Ukrainian side will continue to issue permits for the Polish side to conduct search and exhumation works.
Furthermore, Kyiv proposed to Warsaw a package of anti-crisis steps to deepen mutual understanding between the countries. This involves holding consultations between the ministries of foreign affairs, meetings of historians, and engaging religious figures in bilateral dialogue.
The head of Ukrainian diplomacy also commented on the situation surrounding the name of one of the Ukrainian military units, which sparked a discussion in Poland.
The choice of the unit's name by Ukrainian servicemen had no anti-Polish motive
