Ukraine plans to end 2026 with the production of about 150 million cubic meters of biomethane. Export to the European Union is expected to be the main driver of market development. This was reported by the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine, according to UNN.

Issues regarding the development of the biomethane market were discussed during a meeting between representatives of the Ministry and the European Investment Bank.
The parties also raised topics concerning the development of irrigation and drainage systems, the implementation of investment projects in the field of land reclamation and water resource management, the execution of the Irrigation and Drainage Strategy until 2030, as well as the possibility of implementing large-scale projects related to the Danube basin and the water infrastructure of Ukraine's southern regions.
The Ministry emphasized that special attention during the meeting was paid specifically to the development of the biomethane market.
