Delivering the government's program to the parliament on December 12 in Warsaw, Tusk promised that Poland would be a leader in the European Union and would defend European democratic principles while protecting national interests.

"We will seek cooperation with everyone to fully mobilize the world to help Ukraine. There is no alternative to this," Tusk proclaimed, condemning those in the world who, in his words, complain of fatigue when it comes to the Russian war.

Tusk emphasized that Poland will support Ukraine's European integration, saying that "Ukraine is bleeding because Ukrainians wanted to be like other European countries" and in particular admired the example of Poland.

The Polish prime minister noted that he sees no contradiction in working closely with international partners, helping Ukraine and protecting the interests of the Poles.

It is not so difficult to help our brother, and at the same time to be very vigilant, and if necessary, to firmly defend Poland's interests with every neighbor

- he said.

Tusk also said that he would be firm with those of Poland's international partners who, in his words, "turned away from European values and from Ukraine."

He did not name any politicians or countries, but his words were interpreted as a hint probably to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, who is currently the most vocal in the EU in openly objecting to aid to Ukraine and opposing Ukraine's involvement in the EU and NATO.
