Details
CNN notes that back in March, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated that the administration plans to place Trump's signature on American banknotes for the first time, as part of the 250th anniversary of the United States.
In the image, the president's signature is placed above Bessent's signature. Previously, the $100 bill featured the signatures of the Secretary of the Treasury and the Treasurer of the United States, but not the sitting president
The authors emphasize that Trump has made placing his name and image on a wide range of U.S. documents and landmarks his "passion project."
"The administration has also placed his image, name, or both on the commemorative U.S. passport, national park passes, banners near various institutions in Washington, cultural venues such as the U.S. Institute of Peace, and special investment accounts for infants. Florida has also renamed Palm Beach International Airport in his honor," the article states.
Recall
The U.S. State Department will release a limited series of passports featuring President Trump's image on the inside cover. The series will be dedicated to the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence.
