U.S. President Donald Trump said he does not think the war with Iran will "start anew," despite doubts about the durability of the ceasefire regime, reports UNN citing CNN.

"I don't think it will start anew. I think it will end very quickly. They hit a couple of ships, and so we hit them much harder. When they struck, we struck ten times harder, you know. We hit much harder than they did," he said at a press conference in Ankara, Turkey, responding to a question about the resumption of the war.

He did not say he was backing away from his threat to strike Iran again, stating: "We are using their language."

"I think whatever happens will end very quickly, and we will just... make it safer, including for oil; oil will become very free, very easy and simple, and it will happen very quickly," he said, adding: "We are not seeking long-term cooperation."

These statements are somewhat more positive than his previous words that the memorandum of understanding he signed three weeks ago was "terminated."
