According to Trump, both sides continue to suffer significant losses at the front.
"I spoke with President Putin, I spoke with President Zelenskyy. It seems that a lot of soldiers are being lost on both sides. Russia is losing more because it is on the offensive, and when you fight an offensive war, you lose more people,"
The U.S. President noted that during a phone call on Sunday, he shared his vision of the situation with Putin.
"I had a very successful conversation with President Putin and with President Zelenskyy,"
At the same time, Trump emphasized that the key problem remains the lack of direct communication between the leaders of Ukraine and Russia.
"They need to talk. But they just don't know how to do it. They just don't know how to talk to each other,"
Trump did not specify whether specific proposals for new negotiations between Kyiv and Moscow were discussed during his contacts.
