The administration of U.S. President Joe Biden is considering imposing sanctions against Gazprombank, reports UNN citing Nikkei.
“U.S. President Joe Biden's administration is considering additional financial sanctions against Russia as the White House moves to bar U.S. banks from cooperating with Gazprombank, a major Russian lender that plays a key role in energy deals,” the report said.
The U.S. has notified members of the Group of Seven countries that it will decide on the measures no later than the end of this month, multiple sources including senior European Union officials told Nikkei.
