The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that a truce will be declared on May 8 and 9 to mark "Victory Day" and immediately resorted to threats to strike the center of Kyiv in case of an attempt to "disrupt the celebrations," UNN reports.

On May 8 and 9, a truce is declared in honor of the celebration of the victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War (World War II - ed.)

The statement also noted that the Russian Armed Forces will take "all necessary measures to ensure the safety of the festive events."

Russia, in connection with the declaration of the truce, expects the Ukrainian side to follow its example, the department noted. In case of Ukraine's attempts to implement its criminal plans to disrupt the Victory Day celebration, the Russian Armed Forces will launch a retaliatory strike on the center of Kyiv
