"The Price of Hope": the first story expansion for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 will be released in August

The Ukrainian studio GSC Game World will release the DLC "The Price of Hope" for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 on August 20. The expansion will continue the story of Skif and add new territories.
The Ukrainian studio GSC Game World will release the first story expansion for the game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl on August 20. The DLC, titled "The Price of Hope," will be simultaneously available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5, reports UNN.
The expansion will continue the story of the main protagonist Skif and offer a new plot that unfolds parallel to the main campaign of the game. At the center of events is a new stage of confrontation between the factions "Duty" and "Freedom," threatening the balance of power in the Zone.
According to GSC Game World, players will receive new territories to explore, characters, weapons, and dozens of hours of additional gameplay. It is also emphasized that the decisions made by users will influence the development of the story.
Simultaneously with the release of the DLC, the studio will release a free update 2.0 for all owners of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2. It will transition the game to a newer version of the Unreal Engine 5, as well as add new content and technical improvements.
Recall that the release of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl took place on November 20, 2025, after several delays. The game generated significant hype among users, and some Ukrainian internet providers at the time reported a temporary decrease in network speed due to the massive download of the project.
