Religious freedom is one of America’s fundamental freedoms. It is also a real and essential foundation for peace. As we celebrate 250 years of American independence this year, it was an honor for me to begin my assignment in Kyiv by celebrating religious freedom at Ukraine’s National Prayer Breakfast, which coincided with the 35th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence. I look forward to working to promote freedom and peace as the long-term Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv
