The worst is over
This applies to the provinces of Valencia, Malaga, Andalusia, Aksarquia and Guadalcanal, which were most affected by the spill of the river of the same name yesterday.
It was noted that the previous day in Malaga was difficult: it continued to rain, although with less intensity than on Wednesday. Up to 4210 evacuees spent the night outside their homes in Malaga.
Nevertheless, the orange alert level remains in effect in the Valencian Community, especially in the coastal zone, where up to 180 liters of rain will fall in 12 hours.
Meanwhile, estimates of the damage caused by the second Dana storm on the Iberian Peninsula are emerging.
The natural disaster affected 78 municipalities in the provinces of Valencia, Castilla-La Mancha and Andalusia, causing at least 223 casualties and widespread destruction.
It is noted that in the province of Malaga, which was most affected by heavy rains, the fire service received more than 900 calls - more than 1000 in the whole of Andalusia. At the same time, 4200 people were evacuated for safety reasons, of whom 3000 spent the second night outside their homes.
1,100 people evacuated from two campsites and a Roma camp in the Velez-Malaga area due to the risk of flooding from the Velez River spent the night in a temporary accommodation center.
