The flight of the Azerbaijan Airlines plane over the shooting zone was recorded before the crash

According to Flightradar24, the Azerbaijan Airlines plane was flying over an area where drones were being shot at before the crash. The distress call was made between 8:23 and 8:25 a.m. when the plane was over Grozny.
A few minutes before it sent a distress call, the crashed Azerbaijan Airlines plane "flew over the places from where the drones were fired upon," reports the Russian service of Radio Liberty, UNN writes.

According to the publication, Flightradar24 analysts used data on the airspeed of the plane to establish "the likely trajectory of flight J28243 over Grozny (GPS was jammed at the time)." Between 8:13 and 8:25 a.m., the plane flew over Urus-Martan, where two videos were geolocated at once, showing unknown people trying to shoot down with small arms, a flying drone, the newspaper writes.
The data recovered by Flightradar24 also shows that the pilots activated the distress call (Squawk 7700) between 8:23 and 8:25 a.m. local time, just as they were over Grozny, attempting to land, according to survivors. The first reports of a drone attack on the Chechen capital appeared at 8:24 a.m., the newspaper notes.
