European Commission said it had called on EU countries to transfer Patriot missiles from their stocks to Ukraine

European Commission spokesperson Anita Hipper said that the EU was urging member states with stocks of Patriot missiles to provide them to Ukraine. She emphasized the priority of strengthening Ukraine’s air defense.
The European Commission called on EU countries that have stocks of Patriot missiles to provide them to Ukraine, European Commission spokesperson Anitta Hipper said at a briefing on Thursday, UNN reports.
For our part, we have always stressed the need for greater support for Ukraine. Ukraine urgently needs strengthened air defense, and this remains a priority. That is why the EU High Representative (Kaja Kallas — ed.) called on all member states that have stocks to provide them to Ukraine
She also pointed out that "the EU is providing more than €220 billion, including a total of €88.7 billion to support the strengthening of military and defense capabilities."
"We are also accelerating joint procurement through SAFE, which Ukraine can join, while the High Representative is also regularly in contact with member states to increase their — increase their commitments regarding ammunition and deliveries to Ukraine," Hipper emphasized.

In an interview with CNN, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that "this year we have two and a half times fewer interceptor missiles than we had in 2025," while "Russia has twice as many ballistic missiles per month as before."
