The Appeals Chamber of the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court reduced the sentence of Mykola Chaus, a former judge of the Dniprovskyi District Court of Kyiv, who was accused of bribery. According to the new verdict, his sentence was reduced to 8.5 years of imprisonment.

The court announces the operative part of the court decision, according to which the panel of judges decided: to partially satisfy the appeals of the accused Chaus, the defenders, and the prosecutor. To cancel the verdict of the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court of June 16, 2023... regarding Chaus Mykola Oleksiyovych. To issue a new verdict, in which Chaus Mykola Oleksiyovych is found guilty of committing a criminal offense under Part 4 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and to impose a sentence of imprisonment for a term of 8 years and 6 months

The verdict also provides for confiscation of property, as well as deprivation of the right to hold positions in the judicial branch of government for a term of 3 years.
