According to the minister, Ukraine is grateful to the international partners who supported the joint statement of the Ukrainian side at the Venice Biennale.
Sybiha emphasized that the organizers' decision to welcome Russia's return to the cultural event takes place against the backdrop of ongoing Russian attacks on Ukraine.
"While the Venice Biennale decided to welcome Russia's return, Russian missiles and drones continue to mercilessly attack Ukrainian cities and kill innocent civilians,"
He also noted that Russia violated the ceasefire proposed by Ukraine and shows no readiness to end the war.
According to Sybiha, Russia's war is aimed not only against Ukrainian statehood but also against Ukrainian culture and identity.
"As long as this continues and justice is not served, international cultural events should not be used to whitewash Russian war crimes,"
The minister added that the unity of the international community and a principled position on protecting democratic values remain key to ending the war and achieving a lasting peace in Europe.
