According to Steve Witkoff, during his second visit to the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin ordered a portrait of President Trump from a leading Russian artist and "actually gave it" to Witkoff, asking him to hand it over to Trump.

The US President's Special Envoy noted that he retold this story to Trump and handed over the painting. "And it was obvious that it touched him," he stressed.
