Shmyhal: UAH 3.3 billion to be distributed to regions for maintenance of schools and hospitals

Ukraine is redistributing UAH 3.3 billion to schools and hospitals, as well as funding education under the Defense of Ukraine program.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided to redistribute UAH 3.3 billion in additional subsidies for the maintenance of schools and hospitals in 2024. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, UNN reports.

We are redistributing UAH 3.3 billion of additional subsidies to communities for the maintenance of schools and hospitals in 2024. We expect local authorities to use these funds effectively

He also said that a separate resolution provided for a subvention to communities for material and technical equipment for teaching the subject "Defense of Ukraine" in schools.

"Children will be taught civil defense skills, medical care, military and patriotic education, etc. All of this will provide the younger generation with the most necessary knowledge and skills needed in the face of extraordinary security threats," said Shmyhal.

The government approved compensation to communities that had a significant share of military PIT in their tax revenue structure.
