The SBU confirmed the strike on one of the largest refineries of the Russian Federation — "Lukoil-Permnefteorgsintez" in Perm at a distance of over 1,500 km from Ukraine, reports UNN.

The Security Service of Ukraine successfully struck the infrastructure of the "Lukoil-Permnefteorgsintez" refinery, located at a distance of over 1,500 km from Ukraine. The special operation was carried out in fulfillment of the tasks set by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy to reduce the military-economic potential of the aggressor state

- reported the SBU.

Lukoil-Permnefteorgsintez is one of the largest oil refineries of the Russian Federation with a capacity of almost 13 million tons per year. It supplies fuel to both the civilian sector and the needs of the Russian army.

"A fire at the refinery broke out after a drone 'strike.' According to preliminary data, the primary oil refining unit — one of the key technological facilities of the enterprise — is burning," the SBU statement reads.

"Striking such refineries is of strategic importance, as they produce fuel for military equipment, aviation, and logistics of the occupation army. In addition, the oil refining industry remains one of the main sources of revenue for the budget of the Russian Federation, from which the war against Ukraine is financed," the SBU emphasized.
