Law enforcement officers have identified four high-ranking Russian officials responsible for the missile strike on the printing house. As a result of the attack, 7 employees of the enterprise died.

Law enforcement officers have identified representatives of the higher military command of the Russian Armed Forces who organized and carried out the missile attack on Ukraine's largest printing complex, "Factor-Druk." This was reported by Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko, writes UNN.

"Factor-Druk" is one of the most powerful printing complexes in Europe; many Ukrainian publishers print their books there. Up to 40% of school textbooks were also printed there. Production has now been restored.

Context

On May 23, 2024, Russian troops launched three S-300 missile strikes on a civilian enterprise in Kharkiv. As a result of the attack, 7 employees died, and more than 20 people were injured.

"Factor-Druk" had no military significance. This enterprise printed up to 50 million books, 100 million magazines, and 300 million newspapers annually.

As a result of the Russian strike, tens of thousands of books were destroyed – children's editions, fiction, school textbooks

Who is responsible for the attack on the publishing house

Missiles were launched from the territory of the Belgorod region by a special tactical group from the 568th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment.

It has been established that the leadership of the combined group of forces of the Russian Armed Forces is responsible for the attack on the civilian object:

•⁠ ⁠Colonel General Oleksiy Kim – First Deputy Commander of the Combined Group of Forces (CGF) of the Russian Armed Forces, who issued the direct combat order;

•⁠ ⁠Lieutenant General Andriy Tsyganov – Head of Air Defense and Missile Defense, who ensured the use of missile systems;

•⁠ ⁠Vice Admiral Oleksandr Peshkov – responsible for target selection and coordination of fire damage;

•⁠ ⁠Colonel Serhiy Monetov – Head of Intelligence, who provided data on the object, knowing for certain that it was civilian.

The actions of the suspects are classified under Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with intentional murder). The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the SBU under the procedural guidance of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, with the support of international partners – Project Expedite Justice

Kravchenko added that this crime has no statute of limitations.
