"The French ambassador was informed of the inadmissibility of such statements, which have nothing to do with reality," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement, condemning Paris' "deliberate and intentional actions" aimed at "undermining" the very possibility of any dialogue between the two countries.

After a recent telephone conversation between Russian and French army ministers which resulted in divergent reports, the French Minister of Foreign Affairs declared in Abidjan to the media France 24 and RFI: "Today is not our interest in discussing with Russian officials since the press releases that come out and the reports that are made are false".
