Details
It is noted that 23 strikes targeted railway facilities in western, northern, and central Ukraine. The energy infrastructure, bridges, passenger, carriage, and locomotive depots in Zakarpattia, Lviv, Zhytomyr, Rivne, Volyn, Kharkiv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions were under attack. Hits on rolling stock were also recorded—three locomotives were damaged during the night.
"Our monitoring centers are operating in an intensified mode; we are monitoring the situation in all regions and promptly carrying out evacuations, informing our employees about threats so they can reach shelters in time. Thanks to this difficult, coordinated work, not a single passenger was injured during this massive attack, and trains continue to move on all sections. Despite such targeted strikes, there were also no fatalities at the workplaces,"
At the same time, UZ indicated that one female employee, who was rushing to a shelter, sustained an injury.
"But, unfortunately, it was not without losses in our Iron Family. The enemy's treacherous strikes on the railway town of Zdolbuniv took the lives of 2 of our colleagues. They were not at their workplaces at that time, but the enemy strikes indiscriminately; also, one of our colleagues was injured there,"
They warned of possible temporary train delays, operational changes to the schedule, and route adjustments, and asked passengers to be understanding of possible changes during their journey and to listen carefully to announcements on trains, at stations, and terminals.
