On August 6, Russian forces shelled 11 communities in Sumy region, causing 132 explosions. Artillery, mortars, drones and aircraft were used to attack civilian areas.
On August 6, the Russian military shelled Sumy region 45 times. There were 132 explosions. The following communities were hit: Mykolaivska, Khotynska, Yunakivska, Miropilska, Krasnopilska, Bilopilska, Velykopysarivska, Hlukhivska, Shalyhinska, Esmanska, Znob-Novgorodska communities. This was reported by the Sumy RMA, UNN reports.

- Miropilska community: mortar shelling (6 explosions), air strike (1 explosion).
- Bilopilska community: 3 mines were dropped on the territory of the community and hit by a drone (1 explosion), there were 4 more strikes from cannon artillery.
- Yunakivska community: artillery shelling (8 explosions), mortar shelling (1 explosion), air strikes (11 explosions) were recorded.
- Esman community: Russian military attacked with a mortar (20 explosions), fired at the community with an FPV drone (1 explosion).
- Khotyn community: air strikes were recorded (4 explosions).
- Velykopysarivska community - the Russian military attacked the area with drones (3 explosions), mortars (5 explosions), and grenade launchers (3 explosions).
- Znob-Novhorod community: there were mortar attacks (7 explosions).
- Hlukhiv community: 5 mines were dropped by Russian troops on the territory of the community.
- The Shalyhynska, Mykolaivska and Khotynska communities were hit with mortars.
