The Rada appointed Chernyshov as the Minister of National Unity

The Verkhovna Rada appointed Oleksiy Chernyshov as Vice Prime Minister - Minister of National Unity. The new ministry will be responsible for the return of Ukrainians and countering Russian influences abroad.
The Verkhovna Rada appointed Oleksiy Chernyshov, the head of NJSC "Naftogaz of Ukraine", to the position of Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of National Unity, reports the correspondent of UNN.

The relevant draft resolution No. 12279 was supported by 237 deputies. The resolution states that Oleksiy Chernyshov Mykhailovych is to be appointed as Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of National Unity.

Deputy head of the "Servant of the People" faction Yevheniia Kravchuk reported to the journalist of UNN that at the faction's meeting, the MPs recommended the Prime Minister to submit the candidacy of the chairman of the board of NJSC "Naftogaz of Ukraine" Oleksiy Chernyshov for the position of Minister of Unification of Ukrainians.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that by the end of this year, the candidacy for the head of the Ministry of Unification of Ukrainians will be presented for approval.
Zelenskyy, speaking about the new ministry, stated that it should ensure sufficient power of global Ukrainian unity.
"Millions of our people in other countries, their connections and relations with Ukraine, the protection of our common interests as a nation - all this will be the responsibility of the new institution. In fact, it should be a ministry of Ukrainian unity and counteraction to Russian influences on Ukrainians. First of all, abroad," Zelenskyy said.
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal stated that the main goal of the Ministry of Ukrainian Unity is to return 7.5 million people to Ukraine not by coercion, but by prospects. For this, work needs to be done both at the political level with the political leaderships of the partner countries that have accepted refugees, and directly with the Ukrainian community.
Reminder
Oleksiy Chernyshov has already worked in the government and headed the Ministry of Development of Communities and Territories in 2020-2022. Before that, from 2019 to 2020, he was the head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration. In November 2022, he left the position of minister and was appointed by the Cabinet of Ministers as the chairman of the board of the joint-stock company "National Joint-Stock Company "Naftogaz of Ukraine".
