Production of PAC-3 missiles for Patriot may be launched in Poland near Ukraine

The United States and Poland are working on localizing the production of PAC-3 MSE missiles for the Patriot system. The project is planned to be implemented at Polish plants located near Ukraine.
The United States and Poland are working on the possibility of localizing the production of PAC-3 MSE interceptors for Patriot anti-aircraft systems at Polish defense enterprises. This was reported by Defense Express with reference to a statement by Polish Deputy Defense Minister Cezary Tomczyk on TVN24, according to UNN.

According to Tomczyk, during the Polish delegation's visit to the US, preliminary approval was obtained from the State Department to create a consortium for the production of PAC-3 missiles in Poland. This involves deploying production near Ukraine against the backdrop of an acute shortage of these interceptors in the US and among allies due to the active use of Patriot systems in combat operations in the Middle East.

Defense Express notes that the US is interested in expanding PAC-3 MSE production, as current rates are insufficient. Last year, only 620 such missiles were manufactured, and in 2027, Washington plans to reach 750 units per year. At the same time, the strategic goal of the US is to increase production to 2,000 missiles annually within seven years.
Poland is already integrated into the production of components for the Patriot. In particular, the WZL 1 enterprise manufactures launch tubes for the PAC-3 MSE, and Huta Stalowa Wola participates in the production of launchers under an agreement with Raytheon. Defense Express emphasizes that such cooperation could strengthen the defense potential of NATO's eastern flank and accelerate the supply of missiles for Patriot systems in the region near Ukraine.
