Poll: 45% of Ukrainians believe Trump's victory brings peace closer

Almost half of Ukrainians believe that the victory of Republican Donald Trump in the US presidential election will bring peace to Ukraine. This is evidenced by the data of a poll conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology, UNN reports.

45% of Ukrainians believe that Donald Trump's victory brings peace closer. However, 15% of them believe that peace is getting much closer, and the remaining 30% say that peace is getting only a little closer.

In such circumstances, 14% believe that peace will not come sooner. The remaining 40% believe that Trump's victory will not affect the situation in Ukraine.

The Omnibus public opinion poll was conducted by KIIS on December 2-17 , , 2024, using the telephone interview (CATI) method based on a random sample of mobile phone numbers in all regions of Ukraine (government-controlled territory). A total of 985 respondents were interviewed. The survey was conducted with adult (aged 18 and older) citizens of Ukraine who, at the time of the survey, resided in the government-controlled territory of Ukraine . The sample did not include residents of the territories temporarily not controlled by the Ukrainian authorities (at the same time, some respondents were IDPs who moved from the occupied territories), and the survey was not conducted with citizens who left the country after February 24, 2022.

Formally, under normal circumstances, the statistical error of such a sample (with a probability of 0.95 and taking into account the design effect of 1.3) did not exceed 4.1% for indicators close to 50%, 3.5% for indicators close to 25%, 2.5% for indicators close to 10%, and 1.8% for indicators close to 5%.

Recall 

A KIIS poll showed that 79% of Ukrainians would stay in Ukraine even if they received US or EU citizenship. Among young people under 30, 74% want to stay in Ukraine despite the difficulties.
