Volodymyr Zelenskyy welcomed the EU's decision to open the first cluster of negotiations. The President thanked partners for supporting Ukraine and Moldova.
Ukraine is doing what is necessary, and it is important that the EU also keeps its word. The opening of the first cluster is significant political and moral support for our state and people. This is how President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reacted to the decision of EU members to open the first cluster of negotiations on the accession of Ukraine and Moldova, UNN reports.
I thank all our people who fight for Ukraine, work for our state, and help protect our national interests. And I thank all our partners in the EU and every leader personally for this strong step for the sake of Europe. Ukraine is defending itself and thereby all of Europe – the idea that European nations can live united, free, and in peace. As we said, Ukraine is doing what is necessary, and it is important that the EU also keeps its word. The Head of State thanked Europe for all other support as well, which "is truly leadership-driven and helps us protect lives."
