On Black Friday Ukrainians increased card purchases by almost a quarter

On Black Friday, Ukrainians spent UAH 2.5 billion using PrivatBank cards, which is 22% more than on average days, and the total volume of non-cash purchases for the week reached UAH 15.3 billion

This year, on Black Friday, the day of sales, Ukrainians spent 2.5 billion hryvnias using PrivatBank cards. This was reported by the bank's press service, according to UNN.

This year, following the results of the traditional Black Friday sales day on November 24, Ukrainians paid almost 8 million purchases worth UAH 2.5 billion through PrivatBank's network of sales terminals. This is 22% more than on ordinary days, 

the bank reported.

Details

In total, during the week of sales, Ukrainians reportedly paid for 49 million purchases worth UAH 15.3 billion by cashless payments. The most commonly discounted items were clothing and footwear - 1.6 million purchases for 282 million hryvnias, as well as smartphones and computers - 560 thousand purchases for 281 million.

In addition, 71.5 thousand purchases worth more than UAH 1 billion were made by installments. Smartphones, other electronics, and household appliances were most often bought in installments, and the average cost of an installment purchase was 14 thousand hryvnias, the bank said.

Ukrainians continue to prefer non-cash payments. The quantitative share of non-cash transactions in the third quarter of this year is 93.5% of the total number of transactions with payment cards.
