Occupiers are building new residential quarters in Kherson region for thousands of Russians - NRC
Kyiv • UNN
In Novooleksiivka, Kherson region, residential quarters are being built for two thousand Russian security forces and officials. Local residents have still not received compensation for their lost housing.

The occupation administration continues to implement large-scale residential development projects in the temporarily occupied Kherson region. This was reported by the National Resistance Center of the SOF of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (NRC), UNN reports.
Details
It is noted that this refers to the eastern part of Novooleksiivka, where the invaders plan to build apartment buildings, social infrastructure, and new residential quarters for nearly two thousand residents.
On paper, such projects are presented as further evidence of the "development of the region." However, the real situation indicates otherwise: thousands of local residents have still not received proper compensation for lost or damaged housing
Who the occupiers are building new quarters for:
- the occupation authorities are actively expanding the housing stock in the seized territories;
- the new buildings are primarily intended for Russian officials, security forces, military personnel, and imported specialists;
- local residents continue to wait for years for their own housing problems to be resolved;
- simultaneously, the occupiers report on new construction projects, creating an image of "restoration" of the region.
"The situation looks particularly cynical against the backdrop of the so-called 'distribution of apartments' in the TOT. ... People are often given housing that requires major repairs, has serious damage, or is generally unfit for comfortable living," the NRC points out.
As a reminder
In the Kherson region, the enemy is building commercial housing for its military instead of restoring the homes of locals. Residents of the TOT are being denied compensation for housing.
