Next year, additional payments to the military will remain at the level of 2023 - Defense Ministry

In 2024, payments to the Ukrainian military will not change. It is also planned to maintain additional payments to Ukrainian servicemen in the amount of UAH 30 thousand and UAH 100 thousand.

In the new year of 2024, additional payments to military personnel will remain unchanged, namely at the level of 30 and 100 thousand hryvnias. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Yuriy Dzhyhyr in an interview with the BBC, UNN reports.

As for the additional payments of 30 and 100 thousand hryvnias, the government plans to maintain these payments during the period of martial law, as provided for by Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 168

Funding for the defense ministry in 2024 increased by 10 times compared to the pre-war period. Expenditures will amount to a record 1 trillion 164 billion hryvnias. most of them will be spent on Armed Forces, training of personnel and troops, medical care and veterans. For payments to UAH 751.3 billion will be allocated for payments to the military next year. The funds will be used for development, purchase, modernization and repair of weapons and military equipment -  UAH 265.4 billion. Also, 100 million hryvnias will be spent on housing for the military.

At the same time, Yuriy Dzhyhyr noted that these figures are indicative figures that depend on the combat situation. If the the intensity of the fighting or the number of troops increases, it will be necessary to increase funding and change the budget.
