NATO countries plan to provide Ukraine with $60 billion in military aid over the year - Rutte
Kyiv • UNN
The NATO Secretary General urged countries to increase investment in Ukraine's defense. Germany and Britain led the Contact Group after US demands for funding.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte called on allies to increase financial support for Ukraine, stating that commitments must grow to reach the funding targets of $60 billion, UNN reports with reference to Anadolu.
We cannot forget about Ukraine, and I think that is why this meeting is important for our attention. Therefore, we must provide Ukraine with the necessary support. All allies must invest more to reach the $60 billion targets in Ukraine's security and defense this year.
"Supporting Ukraine's fight is more important than ever," he added, noting that "too few countries bear too much of the burden."
Germany and Great Britain jointly took over the leadership of the Contact Group on Ukraine in April 2025, after the US under President Donald Trump demanded that Europe cover the costs of military aid to Ukraine and used this issue as an argument for pressure.

Earlier, the German government promised to provide additional military aid and agreed on a "strategic partnership" with Kyiv. It is expected that in the future, cooperation will go beyond military and financial aid and develop into a more long-term bilateral interaction.
