Most of the preparations for the heating season in Mykolaiv region have been completed. The region is installing solar panels to ensure the energy independence of critical infrastructure, spending about EUR 4 million.

Mykolaiv Oblast is actively preparing for the new heating season, having started preparations immediately after the previous one ended. The region is also expanding the installation of solar panels to ensure energy independence for key infrastructure facilities such as hospitals and schools.

This was announced by the head of the Mykolaiv RMA Vitaliy Kim during a telethon, UNN reports .

Given the situation and our experience, we prepare for the heating season as soon as the previous season ends. That's why most of the equipment has already been prepared

- Kim says.

Regarding the operational situation, Kim says that 20 shahids were shot down in Mykolaiv region last week. Several houses were damaged and 3 policemen were injured.

Mykolaiv region is one of those regions that produces much more electricity than it consumes. We need to install additional generation, additional solar panels to make us energy independent. And this is the primary critical infrastructure of hospitals and schools so that power outages do not affect the lives of our people. This procedure is currently budgeted at about 4 million euros from the fund. We are currently working on the network where we will do this

- He says.

Kim notes that business is also actively involved in energy independence.
