More than 450 thousand people used shelters in the Kyiv subway in 2024

In 2024, the Kyiv metro provided shelter to more than 450,000 people during nighttime air raids. Many more passengers used metro stations as shelters during the day.
In the evening, the Kyiv subway provided shelter in the face of air danger for more than four hundred thousand people, but even more citizens and visitors of the capital had the opportunity to take shelter at Kyiv subway stations during the day.
Serhiy Tkachuk, head of the Kyiv Metro traffic service, told this on Kyiv24 , UNN reports.
We operate under martial law, in conditions of constant air alerts. Nevertheless, we organize passenger transportation and shelter our passengers during air alerts. Over 11 months of the outgoing year, we sheltered more than 450 thousand passengers at night. I'm not even talking about how many people are sheltered during the latest alarms, during organized train traffic.
